OverviewIf you are an experienced tax professional who is ready to work directly with the business and engineering to enable innovation, solve problems and drive change, Microsoft has an immediate opportunity to join the Worldwide Tax & Customs department. 
The Launch team is a global team that centrally partners with stakeholders across Microsoft to provide tax guidance to the business and positively impact Microsoft’s regulatory compliance and reputation. This cross-functional Tax Senior Manager - Global Launch role is primarily responsible for providing clear, consistent and comprehensive tax guidance to enable strategic business, improve customer/partner experience and optimize internal systems. The Tax Senior Manager - Global Launch will ensure a coordinated Tax voice, provide requirements that mitigate risk, frame and simplify multi-dimensional tax issues in a clear, concise manner and facilitate creative solutions to complex issues. Serving as a key partner and valued tax advisor, this Tax Senior Manager - Global Launch role offers an opportunity to partner dynamically across Microsoft, developing and managing relationships with the business, engineering, finance and legal.

Responsibilities
Offer tax advice to enable our business to develop key strategies and find creative solutions to complex issues grounded in an understanding of how existing and evolving tax law and regulation may impact the business.
Exercise sound judgment that incorporates legal analysis, a pragmatic approach and consideration of business goals and risk tolerance.
Proactively partner across tax experts within Worldwide Tax & Customs to provide clarity on business objectives and drive scalable, global and actionable tax advice. Deliver tax requirements to, and collaborate with, engineering in connection with designing, implementing, deploying and testing requirements.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
Advanced Degree (e.g., Master's in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Taxation or related field; J.D.; LL.M. in Taxation) AND 5+ years tax compliance, tax accounting, tax audit management or tax advisory experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Tax, Law, or related field AND 6+ years tax compliance, tax accounting, tax audit management or tax advisory experience OR equivalent experience.Additional or preferred qualifications
Advanced Degree (e.g., Master's in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Taxation or related field; J.D.; LL.M. in Taxation) AND 7+ years tax compliance, tax accounting, tax audit management or tax advisory experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Tax, Law, or related field AND 8+ years tax compliance, tax accounting, tax audit management or tax advisory experience OR equivalent experience.Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Laws (LLM), or similar certification.Experience in industry as tax advisor to business.
Experience in direct tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing.
Tax IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
