OverviewThe magnitude and speed of the world’s environmental changes have made it increasingly clear that Microsoft must make sustainability a core part of everything it does. In January 2020, the company announced its commitment to be carbon negative by 2030 and followed that announcement with goals for ecosystems, waste, and water. 
Microsoft Procurement’s core focus is carbon. We are partnering across the company to reduce emissions from our supply chain by 55% by 2030. The Procurement Sustainability group is looking for a Sustainability Manager to join their team. This position will play a critical role in building out new programmatic processes and communicating internally and externally to support both suppliers and the business collectively to achieve Microsoft’s carbon negative goal. 
Candidates must have a proven track record in operational excellence, communications, collaboration, and stakeholder management, as well as a passion for sustainability.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
Responsible for end to end supplier and buyer support desk including: developing and executing the strategy to reduce ticket volumes and escalations
Acting as tier 2 for support ticket escalations, answering complex and/or technical program questions
Coordinating across peer programs to share and leverage best practices to drive further support desk excellence
Continuously evaluate needs for training and readiness materials and develop new materials in collaboration with internal and external partners to address knowledge gaps
Establish relationships across the company to build a strong sustainability network
Partner across Procurement to gain scale through peer teams
Oversee the supplier and buyer support desk by developing strategies to reduce escalations, addressing complex inquiries, coordinating best practices, creating training materials, building sustainability networks, and collaborating with Procurement teams for broader impact.

Qualifications
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 4+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience.
3-5 years supply chain, operations, communications, or sustainability experience required
Additional or preferred qualifications
Understanding of carbon accounting
written and verbal communication skills and an ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences at all levels of the organization
Highly driven passionate person, with a demonstrated track record of exceeding goals
Comfortable dealing with ambiguous situations and skilled at influencing teams and leaders without authority.
Knowledgeable about sustainability and eager to learn more
A high level of enthusiasm, creativity, self-motivation, and resourcefulness
Ability to work both independently with minimal direction and collaboratively across multiple functions
Growth mindset with problem solving skills
Plays well with others and thrives in cross-team environments
Business Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
