The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan, source, make, deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide. Microsoft Cloud Planning (MCP) is the central planning function within CSCP focused on forecasting, demand planning, and supply planning for all Microsoft Cloud services and associated hardware, directly impacting the success of Microsoft's cloud business.

Responsibilities
Perform rough-cut capacity planning (in conjunction with Server, Network, and Component management) and supply smoothing to define the Supply Plan of Record and translate into long-term (1-2 year) supply plans for Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers Provide clear reporting insights and analytics on demand forecast accuracy and volatility as well as execution to the Supply Plan of Record; work with Capacity Planning and Operations teams to identify root cause and implement solutions to mitigate issues Work with Supply Chain, and Capacity Planning teams on the timing and availability of product transitions in order to plan for platform end of life (minimizing E&O inventory) and ramp of new platforms Define inventory buffer targets (in conjunction with Component Planning) and strategies based on historical usage and forecast, and define financial risk/liability associated with said buffers Perform scenario analysis to understand impact of component shortages, demand upside/downside, etc. to Supply Plan of Record Partner with systems engineering teams to develop a supply planning automation roadmap to support increasing scale and complexity Measure supply planning inputs, drive demand plan accountability, and set supportability expectations with capacity planning teams Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Capacity Planning, Server and Component Planning, Finance and Systems Engineering teams. Use industry intelligence data and long-range demand projections to demonstrate market share status and business impact of anticipated growth
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 7+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, Sales & Operations Planning, materials requirement planning systems and tools, quantitative & qualitative analysis in cross functional or organizational enterprise environment, or related experienceOR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 5+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, Sales & Operations Planning, materials requirement planning systems and tools, quantitative & qualitative analysis in cross functional or organizational enterprise environment, or related experienceOR equivalent experience. Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field Cloud/Hyperscale Supply Chain Experience Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Data Analytics skillset as a experienced user of SQL, Python, Excel and PowerBI for visualization Understanding of S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) elements and process Possess business acumen, able to think and plan strategically. Proven verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Able to summarize complex concepts to engage with broader audiences. Proficient critical thinking and ability to drive resolution in ambiguous situations. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage change in the organization and to influence others Comfortable working in a fast-pace, high-growth environment
Supply Planning IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
