Within CO+I, the Core Datacenter Services (CDS) team is responsible for improving overall availability and efficiency for Microsoft’s cloud business. We have multiple teams focused on both Microsoft and Lessor datacenter performance and all aspects of datacenter utilization effectiveness that includes power, water and labor.
We are seeking a Senior Supply Planner, Program Manager to support the Operational Supply Chain across datacenters globally. This role will own developing the strategy to scale and optimize our data center inventory targets and replenishment plans to support critical environment spares and support Microsoft’s AI delivery for DC operations.

This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.
Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates will need to relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.
This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 100%.
Develop and execute the strategy and standards for supply min/max targets throughout all nodes in the supply chain, in line with the overall company goals and objectives, while delivering on key delivery metrics such as On Time in Full (OTIF), Inventory Turns, Excess & Obsolescence.Safety & Security: Deliver safe and secure solutions for internal and external customer commitments as the highest priority.Availability: Ensure inventory availability at the right place at the right time for the right cost placing expertly balancing business and customer needs to ensure seamless customer experiences.Operations: Manage day-to-day relationships with third parties to ensure compliance while maximizing output execution. Ensure that business processes are systematized for consistent service delivery and increasing efficiency. Track supplier on time delivery and create metrics that evaluate business performance and determine areas of optimization. Supply Chain Management: Escalate and resolve field supply chain issues, prioritize service based on material lead times and availability, track and analyze material consumption trends, review engineering change orders affecting spare parts, ensure HW compatibility for spare parts.Build working relationships across multiple disciplines (Sourcing, Finance, Data Center Operations, Suppliers and others), cultivating strategic relationships and influence across the organization.Implement measurement frameworks to enable data-driven decision-making, work independently and be agile in a dynamic and growing environment.Technical Program Management: Serve as an expert in tools and processes for managing supply and driving improvements to meet critical business outcomes. Oversees the use of automation and scaling of systems for inventory needs meeting the individuals supply plan.Defines and drives process changes and improvements. Oversees standardization and maturity processes. Leads complex change management processes. Influences teams to gain adoption of process changes. Collaborates cross-functionally to improve tools and processes. Creates culture and atmosphere for teams with efficient processes. Coaches and mentors other team members with challenges.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, Technical Program Management, data analysis, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management or related field OR equivalent experience. 4+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience 3+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience OR equivalent experience. 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Background Check Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management or related fieldOR equivalent experience.6+ years’ experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.7+ years’ experience in Supply Chain Operations & Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Reverse Logistics Operations, knowledge of field service operations, and APICS certification.Advanced knowledge and understanding of cloud infrastructure and datacenter environments such as power, physical space, rack units, cooling, cable routing and management.Proven background in program management methodologies, approaches, and tools (e.g. PMP/Six Sigma certification).
Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
