Microsoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan, source, make, deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. The Cloud Sourcing, Spares, Security and Sustainability (CS4) organization within CSCP manages sourcing, strategy, and suppliers to provide cost, flexibility, and supply advantages that enable our org to become a world-class supply chain. Establish the appropriate Supply Chain and Quality pillar in the Sourcing Strategy with cross-functional stakeholders to drive long-term goals of Technology Adoption, Quality, and Reliability for networking products and supply chain.Engage early with Microsoft network architects, engineering, NPI, and program/product management teams to establish product performance, quality, and reliability requirements.Capture Microsoft’s Network Sourcing and Quality standards and drive high availability and competitive advantage in Microsoft cloud offerings.Articulate expectations with partners to drive quality and reliability into the new product development, validation, qualification, and introduction cycle.Provide thought-leadership and manage strategic initiatives with internal stakeholders and partners’ teams to support cloud supply chain objectives and strategies.Work with Microsoft sourcing teams, networking OEMs, networking silicon, and AECs/optical module, cable/interconnect suppliers, and System Integrators to co-develop, introduce, and scale volume into the datacenters.Establish infrastructure to measure quality performance, repeatability, and improvements.Provide KPIs throughout the supply chain; OEMs, ODMs, hubs, System Integrators, and in datacenters.Capture, document, and communicate Microsoft feedback to Supplier engineering teams to drive continuous improvement in product design, functionality, and usability.Understand and influence supplier system BOM, component selection and qualification criteria, and ensure the appropriate quality and reliability validation meets or exceed Microsoft’s standardsLead 8D/RCCA for quality events of components, PCB/A, PSU, interconnect, and electro-mechanical subsystems, and systems with internal stakeholders, and suppliers.Lead quality audit, evaluation, and support supplier selection process through cross-functional analysis around supplier quality capabilitiesCollaborate with the Sourcing team to develop and enable new supplier introduction throughout the product life cycle to meet technology, quality, delivery, cost and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 3+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 4+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR equivalent experience.4+ years of experience in supplier quality, supplier development engineering, component engineering, field application engineering, and/or similar roles with specialization and exposure to networking products.2+ years of experience with networking systems design and component selection, and knowledge of NPI, System integration, QA methodologies, and performance testing.4+ years of experience in program management, and excellent in verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey technical information to all technical and non-technical stakeholders.Other Requirements:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafterPreferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline, Materials Science, or related field in quality, program management, sourcing, supplier development engineering, process engineering, yield management in operations, and/or equivalent experience.Proven understanding of cloud network technologies; switches, routers, security appliances, optics/optical modules.Exposure in design, manufacturing process, and test and yield management of component, sub-assembly and network systems.Familiarity with design criteria for component selection and validation, semiconductor manufacturing processes, PCB/A manufacturing process flow, and experience in interconnect failure modes, GD&T and assembly related issues such as pin deformation, latching, semiconductor component and PSU failures.Storytelling and influencing skills with a track record of developing and nurturing key stakeholder relationships.Experience working with internal, supplier, and customer facing role and working with System Integrators and ODM/OEMs.Familiarity with automated testing, and continuous improvement practices.Thrives in a dynamic and fast paced environment.Sourcing Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
