The Account Technology Strategist (ATS) in our AMT team, plays a key role in inspiring and ideating with customers the possibilities technology provides to them, drives thought leadership in digital transformation and builds strategic partnerships with C- level technology and innovation executives.

The ATS is the leader responsible for designing the strategy and technology solution roadmap to drive the digital transformation and innovation agenda of our enterprise customers and acts as an innovation and thought leader. With deep industry knowledge, broad technology skills and unparalleled business acumen the ATS connects industry/business priorities to technology strategy and develops value propositions which align with our customer’s business strategies, leveraging the rich portfolio of Microsoft and its partner ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Customer Strategic Partnerships:

The ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships and the ability to express empathy and compassion when dealing with the needs and problems of others, being approachable, taking time to address the concerns of coworkers, and treating others with respect and dignity.

The ability to build trusted-advisor status and deep technical relationships across technical stakeholders through an understanding of customer needs and technologies.

The ability to guide partners’ and/or customers' thinking through active listening, questioning, and reflecting and provides vital insight and seamless service to help define needs and then provide advice within area of expertise.

Driving Operations

The ability to make decisions in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. This includes the ability to define, diagnose, and determine an appropriate resolution, recommendation or decision while considering alternatives and factors (e.g., resources, costs, tradeoffs).

Ability to manage sales opportunities and/or deals by making arrangements and coordinating processes. This includes the skills of communicating and collaborating with others and leveraging resources and tools.

Knowledge of and ability to manage individual customer/partner accounts or a portfolio of aggregate account pipelines by developing and maintaining relationships with existing customers/partners, tracking account status, and ensuring the health of account metrics.

Maximizing Business Operations

The ability to identify, analyze, evaluate, and keep up to date on key local, national, international events and activities, and industry, economic, political, and social trends that affect the company, including laws, policies, politics, administration priorities, trends, and special interests.

The ability to identify competitors and evaluate their respective strengths and weaknesses in terms of products, services, marketing, and other areas. This includes an ability to gather intelligence and interpret it for the purposes of business decisions.

The ability to identify and manage business development opportunities that could be implemented to drive positive results for the business.

Solution Envisioning

The ability to understand customer needs through dialogue before recommending products/services.

The ability to achieve mutually satisfying agreements in negotiations with others by listening to their objectives, acting as the company's representative to effectively communicate the company's objective, and seeking common ground and collaborative solutions.

The ability to identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Business Value Creation (Managing Pipeline

Knowledge of and the ability to use basic financial analysis (e.g., return on investment, value chain analysis) related to marketing effectiveness, resource allocations, and new business opportunities.

The ability to be organized, resourceful, and planful. This includes the ability to leverage multiple resources to get things done and lay out tasks in sufficient detail. This also includes the ability to work on multiple tasks at once without losing track and foresee and plan around obstacles.

Knowledge of and the ability to carry out the process of planning, organizing, and managing tasks and resources to accomplish a well-defined objective. Ability to manage and provide project deliverables, optimize the contribution of the people involved, and assess the impact of project decisions on quality, productivity, schedules, cost, performance, etc.

Communication with Impact

The ability to make a verbal message understood and to receive/understand messages during in-person or remote (e.g., telephone) interactions.

The ability to create and deliver formal presentations to others. This includes sharing information on a range of topics in a clear, concise, engaging, and convincing manner; commanding the audience’s attention; developing effective presentation materials (e.g., handouts, visual aids); and handling questions or argumentative positions from the audience.

The ability to prepare clear, accurate, and understandable written text and follow the basic rules of spelling, grammar, and punctuation. This may include memos, emails, proposals, reports, and professional or general correspondence.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 7+ years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, practice building, or related technical/sales/industry experience OR equivalent experience. Other Requirements:

Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 14+ years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, practice building, or related technical/sales/industry experience OR equivalent experience.5+ years experience in digital transformation or using technology to drive customer business outcomes.4+ years experience in business consulting, consultative selling, or change management.5+ years experience leading technical, support, and/or partner teams. Strategic Account Technology IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
