Description
As a Strategic Account Executive, you will play a pivotal role in leading the account, driving customer outcomes, advocating for customers, and delivering operational excellence, while carefully orchestrating shared account resources.Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Lead the Account: Develop and refine strategies for engaging with a strategic customer, aligning with customer strategies and priorities. Develop Executive Engagement and ensure customer success.Drive Customer Outcomes: Help customers achieve their strategic outcomes by positioning Microsoft and partner solutions and capabilities aligned to their goals.Deliver Operational Excellence: Lead a high-performance team focused on achieving customer goals. Run regular Rhythm of Business (ROB) meetings with the wider account team. Partner with many teams across the company to grow the relationship with and footprint at a key customer.Expand Strategic Customer Relationships: Drive larger impact for the customer and spread into other areas of the organization. Anticipate issues/risks on customer satisfaction, determine the root cause of problems, remove blockers, and establish recovery action plans to improve the customer's overall experience.Showcase Value of Microsoft's Offerings: Develop strategies that highlight the value added by Microsoft's innovative cloud offerings and ideas grounded on a deep understanding of industry trends and based on account needs and customer expectations.Leverage Internal Network: Strengthen your knowledge of the industry, competitors, and customer business priorities by leveraging your internal network of industry experts. Use your in-depth knowledge of Microsoft's offerings to share knowledge internally, influence customers' business capabilities, drive more competitive solutions, and enhance the growth of the account team.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience working in an industry (e.g., Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Energy, Government, Education, Technology) and/or driving digital transformationOR Master's Degree AND 9+ years experience working in an industry (e.g., Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Energy, Government, Education, Technology) and/or driving digital transformationOR 13+ years experience in working in an industry (e.g., Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Energy, Government, Education, Technology) and/or driving digital transformationOR equivalent experience.6+ years experience making recommendations to and/or collaborating with mid-to-senior level executives.8+ years experience closing large, complex agreements/deals.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
Relationship-Building Skills: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers at all levels, including C-level executives.Industry Expertise: Deep understanding of industry trends and customer needs, preferably in the Energy space.Digital Transformation: Experience in driving digital transformation initiatives within various industriesStrategic Planning: High proficiency in developing and executing multi-year customer account plans that align with customer priorities and business objectives.Sales and Negotiation: Proven track record of closing large, complex deals and agreements.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively.Leadership and Team Coordination: Ability to lead and coordinate diverse teams, including industry experts and internal stakeholders, to execute account plans and drive business outcomes.Customer Advocacy: Strong focus on advocating for customer needs and ensuring customer success through tailored solutions and strategic insights.Operational Excellence: Commitment to delivering operational excellence by managing pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and business risk mitigation.Problem-Solving Skills: Creativity and agility in identifying and pursuing new opportunities and overcoming challenges.Strategic Account Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,000 - $217,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $168,600 - $237,500 per year.
