Responsibilities
Lead front‑end sourcing strategy for critical memory and storage technologies (HBM, DRAM, NAND/SSD, CXL) supporting hyperscale cloud and AI platforms.Influence platform architectures and POR decisions by partnering with engineering, system architecture, and product teams early in the design cycle.Own long‑range supply, capacity, and commercial strategy, aligning supplier roadmaps with multi‑year demand, capex, and cost objectives.Serve as commercial interface with Tier‑1 suppliers, structuring LTAs, supply‑assurance frameworks, price protections, and risk‑sharing models.Drive cross‑functional alignment with Capacity Planning and Finance on demand forecasts, supply risk, margin impact, and capital exposure.Identify and mitigate lifecycle, technology, and geopolitical risks while scaling supplier ecosystems to support rapid platform growth.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 6+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 8+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR equivalent experience.Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:
Deep industry expertise in memory and storage technologies (DRAM, NAND, SSD, HDD), including supply‑demand dynamics, pricing drivers, and technology transitions. Proven experience leading complex, multi‑year supplier negotiations, including LTAs, prepayments, capacity reservations, and risk‑sharing commercial structures. Proven cross‑functional leadership with the ability to align Engineering, Capacity Planning, Finance, Legal, and Product teams around executable sourcing strategies. Executive‑level communication and influence skills, with experience engaging and negotiating at CVP/President/CEO levels internally and externally. Demonstrated ability to operate in high‑volatility environments, balancing cost, supply assurance, and financial risk to support large‑scale cloud growth.
Sourcing Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
