Microsoft Industry Solutions Delivery (ISD) is a global organization hosting over 6,000 strategic sellers, industry and security experts, elite engineers, world-class data scientists and architects, consultants, and delivery specialists. Within ISD, the Custom Solutioning organization plays a specialized role: it operates primarily in presales, partnering closely with customers and account teams to shape complex, highly tailored solutions. Unlike a standard Area Solution Architect role, Custom Solutioning maintains a different balance of presales versus delivery, with a strong emphasis on early engagement, solution design, and bringing clarity to customer needs long before execution. Together with our partners, we help Microsoft’s most strategic customers worldwide address their specific challenges and provide comprehensive, industry-specific solutions that meet their unique requirements.
As a Solution Architect in ISD Custom Solutioning, you will work closely with clients to understand their business needs and translate those requirements into well designed systems, applications, and processes. You’ll define complex technology architectures involving Data Platform and Artificial Intelligence to address key business challenges and ensure solutions align with client goals. Serving as a trusted advisor, you’ll guide design activities, typically within project teams, and occasionally while working on customer sites. Clients are primarily located in the Americas and EMEA, and international travel may be required.
