This is the heart of our mission.We plan to build transformational experiences in Copilot notebook and are looking to hire a Principal Software Engineering Manager in the OneNote Cloud Experiences team.
The problems we solve will include building a multitude of grounding capabilities, creation of richer artifacts, multi-modal capture support, and building agent support on top of Copilot notebooks. The problems will also encompass deep architectural improvements to optimize performance and increase reliability. We plan to build these experiences at scale across all Web and mobile platforms and will continue to use the best-in-class infrastructure that boosts developer productivity and engineering velocity.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.6+ years of experience building commercial grade software, with much of that experience in mission-critical, large scale, high availability services.
3+ years of experience as an engineering manager, or a technical lead with a passion for coaching and mentoring others.Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:
Proven experience in developing AI-powered applications or integrating AI/ML features into product features.Background in working with large-scale, distributed systems.Experience in building web applications using React, TypeScript, GraphQL, or Relay.Cloud and services experience. Azure stack is a plus.Experience leveraging AI to increase engineering velocity and quality.Proven ability to manage cross-functional and cross-org partnerships with product, research, design, and eng teams.Demonstrated ability to balance short-term execution with long-term technical vision.Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
