We are looking for a Principal Software Engineering Manager to join the Minecraft Web team. You will lead a team with a strong culture of quality, customer obsession, and continuous improvement to deliver delightful, accessible web experiences that reach hundreds of millions of players. You will collaborate across disciplines and partner with studio teams to deliver significant business impact while driving improvements in how the team executes against product goals. Most importantly you will support and grow a team of world-class engineers by fostering an inclusive culture that helps everyone to be at their best.

Manage a team of developers with ownership of front-end and back-end web technologies Leads with an emphasis on mature engineering practices required for agility with quality Drive technical strategy that improves delivery and team workflows Build and maintain strong partnerships with key studio teams, partners, and stakeholders Take a hands-on approach by staying involved in the code and deeply understanding how the software functions Embody our Culture & Values
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language), or Javascript OR equivalent experience. 2+ years people management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language), or Javascript OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited, to C#, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language), or JavascriptOR equivalent experience. 4+ years people management experience 2+ years technical leadership experience driving engineering roadmaps, leading teams, mentoring and helping others to grow Experience with core Web front-end technologies: HTML/CSS/Javascript Experience with Microsoft cloud service technologies Familiarity with mature web experimentation practices Experience partnering with external development partners
Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
