Description
The Partner Engineering Platform Team at Microsoft is at the forefront of helping partners deliver high quality devices and drivers. Providing a link between the internal teams including feature teams and external partners to enhance collaboration. The Partner Engineering Team is hiring a Principal Software Engineering Lead to support this critical part of our business.As a Principal Software Engineering Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving the technical vision, strategy, and execution of our software engineering projects. You will lead a team of talented engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet our business objectives.

Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Define and drive the technical vision and strategy for software engineering projects, ensuring alignment with business goals.Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable, reliable, and secure software solutions.Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.Ensure adherence to best practices in software development, including coding standards, testing, and documentation.Identify and address technical challenges, providing guidance and support to the engineering team.Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating them into the development process as appropriate.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the engineering team.
Qualifications
Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including at least one of the following: C++, C#, Angular, Python, or ReactOR equivalent experience.Experience with cloud technologies, microservices architecture, and DevOps practices.2+ years of people management experience.Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements that are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including at least one of the following: C++, C#, Angular, Python, or ReactOR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including at least one of the following: C++, C#, Angular, Python, or ReactOR equivalent experience.4+ years people management experience.Experience with relational and/or non-relational databases, such as SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, or Cosmos DB.Experience with back-end technologies, such as .NET, Node.js, Express, Django, Rails, or Spring Boot.Experience working in a large-scale, enterprise environment.Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
