We are seeking a Software Engineer for the team who:

Designs, write, and deliver software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Microsoft’s Identity services. Solve problems relating to mission critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence; with the goal of automating response to all non-exceptional service conditions. Influence and create new designs, architectures, standards and methods for large-scale distributed systems. Engage in service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis and system tuning.Has a Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with a strong sense of ownership and drive.



Qualifications



Required/Minimum Qualifcations:

•Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

○ OR equivalent experience.

• Experience with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis and software design.

• Understanding of cloud network technologies and protocols, including TCP/IP and DNS.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

○ OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

○ OR equivalent experience.

• Experience with distributed systems design and implementation.

• Proficiency in Agile development practices and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).

• Experience working on large-scale projects or applications.

• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse remote teams.

• Quick learner with a passion for solving complex and exciting problems.

• Familiarity with Azure is a plus.

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
