Description
Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind building the Microsoft cloud. Within CO+I, the Datacenter Planning & eXecution Engineering (DPXE) team is responsible for delivering datacenter capacity for Microsoft’s cloud business. We have a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-million, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects with specific safety, quality, schedule, and cost goals.The DPX Engineering team is responsible for architecting, designing, and building the next generation of connected systems and tools using microservices architecture to help manage and support critical business functions such as Cost, Schedule, Networking, Commissioning, Procurement, Safety, Planning in a real time manner. The team has a charter to deliver against the NorthStar goal of building robust automation for these functions through well engineered systems and at the same time design and build the next gen, ML based, recommendation engine to enable cost and schedule modeling, supply planning, execution planning while integrating with the bigger CO+I ecosystem.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about solving business problems with technology. As an engineer in the team, you will be required to contribute high quality design and code, and subscribe to the high-quality expectations in the team. You will be expected to collaborate with other team members and work under the supervision of your lead or senior/principal tech lead/engineer.
As a well-rounded engineer, you will be confident to dive into any unknowns and use the debugging and analysis tools at your disposal to determine the root cause of issues and to provide viable and permanent solutions. Similarly, you should be confident to pick up any programming language or tech stack based on the needs of the feature/project and work with your crew to deliver on the committed deliverables and timelines. We work at a fast pace, in an agile environment. You will be expected and supported to deliver value incrementally in a continuous learning environment. Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
o OR equivalent experience.
4+ years of experience in software development across at least two of the following domains: CRM Development (Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE OR Equivalent), Service development (.NET, Java, OR Equivalent),Web application development (VueJS, Angular, OR Equivalent), Cloud Development (Azure, AWS, OR Equivalent)Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience.
Multi-platform, end-to-end experience across a wide spectrum of cloud technologies in Azure, with knowledge of building solutions with Dynamics 365 and Dataverse. Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
