OverviewWindows Cloud Experiences is building the next generation of immersive computing, enabling customers to seamlessly connect PCs with mixed reality devices.
We have an immediate opening for a Senior Software Engineer on the Windows Cloud Streaming, Mixed Reality, and Graphics team.
We believe spatial computing will transform how people work, create, and collaborate. Our team develops low-latency streaming technology that brings Windows applications and powerful PC experiences to mixed reality devices. We innovate across real-time graphics, networking, video and audio, device integration, and immersive user experiences to make spatial computing responsive, reliable, and accessible.
We are looking for a software engineer with a strong C++ background and a passion for some or all of these areas to complement our team and help shape the future of immersive computing.

Responsibilities
Develops the next generation of streaming technology for VDI experiences in Mixed Reality Scenarios.Designs, implements, and evolves new tools and techniques to analyze and improve the visual quality and responsiveness of end-to-end streaming.Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages with a focus in C++ specifically where C# Java, or Python would be advantageous. OR equivalent experience.Additional or preferred qualifications

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing, debugging, profiling, and optimizing code on different hardware platforms running Windows and Android.OS networking stacks (on any OS).Realtime graphics experience with contemporary APIs (D3D12, Vulkan).Video codecs and low-latency, high-throughput video encoding/decoding.Machine Learning and its application in networking and/or video/audio.Solid C++ development and debugging skills.A proven ability to work in a team environment on a shared code base.#W+DJOBS
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Germany is € 90,100.00 - € 152,500.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
