Overview

Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind building the Microsoft cloud. Within CO+I, the Datacenter Planning & Execution Engineering (DPXE) team is responsible for delivering datacenter capacity for Microsoft’s cloud business. We have a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-million, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects with specific safety, quality, schedule, and cost goals.

The DPX Engineering team is responsible for architecting, designing, and building the next generation of connected systems and tools using a combination of microservices architecture and ERP platforms to help manage and support critical business functions such as Supply Chain, Cost, Schedule, Networking, Commissioning, Safety, Planning in a real time manner. The team has a charter to deliver against the NorthStar goal of building robust automation for these functions through well engineered systems and at the same time design and build the next gen AI enabled recommendation engine to enable cost and schedule modeling, supply planning, execution planning, and integrated with the bigger CO+I ecosystem.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a passionate, innovative, high energy individual contributor who can deal with ambiguity and challenge the status-quo to deliver automation capabilities. You will be a part of a team of high performing individuals charted with building a centralized, secure, and compliant platform for storing, managing, governing, and discovering digital assets across their entire lifecycle with document intelligence and workflow capabilities—from creation and ingestion through active use, archival, and disposition and meta data tagging. The system will support large scale storage and retrieval with timebound access restriction for internal and external users and serve as a backend for several line of business applications while maintaining consistent policy enforcement.

You will:

Write high quality, maintainable, reusable code following SOLID principles. Leverage AI assisted engineering productivity tools to deliver capabilities at an increased velocity. Collaborate with and demonstrate features developed to stakeholders across Geos in an Agile environment. Resolve complex system integration challenges working with other members of the team and external teams. Share learnings and code assets developed with the CO+I Engineering team. Leverage subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders across disciplines to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items. Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate. Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.Preferred Qualifications:

8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.Knowledge of best practices for software engineering, testing, and documentation Proficient in coding and design skills.Ability to work with partner teams across organizations. 2+ years of experience in DevOps and Infrastructure as a Code such as Bicep or Terraform.2+ years of experience with Microsoft Entra identity and access management and expertise in O-Auth Flows. 1+ years of experience with the latest development paradigms using AI assisted tools to improve productivity. Software development experience in all the following areas: Web and API development, UX technologies (Angular, React), Relational Databases, NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB.5+ years technical experience architecting and building solutions on Azure or comparable cloud platforms2+ years of experience in building automated solutions used to manage lifecycle of unstructured content at large scale (10 million+) in cloud environments. 2+ years of experience with standards in regulatory compliance for unstructured content including as sensitivity labelling, privacy, loss prevention and exfiltration controls, retention, legal holds and secure disposal. Project experience with Microsoft Graph APIs and SharePoint Embedded. Background Check Requirements:

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
