OverviewThe Azure Core Trusted Platform team safeguards Microsoft’s foundational cloud infrastructure by ensuring that our engineering systems, services, and workflows meet the highest bars for security, privacy, and regulatory compliance. As a Software Engineer II on the team, you’ll work deeply in distributed systems, reliability, debugging, secure coding, cloud security, automation, and CI/CD—applying strong engineering fundamentals to build resilient, compliant platform components used across Microsoft. Responsibilities
Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features.Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).Contributes to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provides estimation.Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and gains approval to restore system/product/service for simple problems.Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.2+ years experience working cross team, collaborating with others, prioritizing tasks, and working independently.2+ years working with or developing software for distributed systems and scalable cloud environments.2+ years with demonstrated hands-on design, coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills.Familiarity with Generative AI concepts, tools, or applications.#azurecorejobs
