Microsoft’s Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) team builds and operates Microsoft datacenters, which in turn power Microsoft’s cloud business. We anticipate and provide capacity for continuous scale. The CO+I Engineering team (CO+IE) delivers services, applications, and automation supporting datacenter planning, construction, and operation. We own a large portfolio of services, including workflows that enable predicable, lowest cost datacenter construction, telemetry systems that drive high availability and optimized energy usage, and task and performance management applications that help our operation run as efficiently as possible. Responsibilities

Develops and maintains a comprehensive test strategy to ensure solution quality, including security testing and leveraging AI tools for test automation.Identifies system dependencies and collaborates with internal and external teams to ensure seamless integration, security, and compliance.Leads product/solution architecture discussions and creates complex design documents while ensuring adherence to performance, security, and scalability requirements.Collaborates with partner teams to ensure end-to-end testing, live-site readiness, and operational escalation processes before release.Applies best coding practices to build secure, maintainable, and performant code, and reviews code to uphold quality and standards.Uses and develops software engineering tools and drives automation towards zero-touch deployment.Manages security standards, including secure coding, security monitoring, and incident response processes.Maintains live site operations on-call, driving incident mitigation, telemetry integration, and continual improvement of monitoring and operational procedures.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experienceSoftware development experience in any two of the following areas: Web and API development, UX technologies (Angular, React), Relational Databases5+ years technical experience architecting and building solutions on Azure or comparable cloud platforms5+ Experience with Data Platform architectures (SQL Relational Databases, Data Warehousing, Big Data architectures)Experience building solutions on PowerPlatform/Dynamics 365, is preferred

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
