We are looking for a highly motivated, passionate and talented engineer to help build and grow the platform as we take on more and more mission critical first party workloads. You will have the chance to learn, understand and leverage a wide variety of technologies ranging from nitty gritties of how datacenters work to building fault tolerant, highly scalable microservices.

Responsibilities
You will be a principal technical IC leader in the team building SDN stack that will empower both the first party and third-party customers like Exchange online, Bing and Walmart to run their mission critical workloads on Azure.This is an Individual Contributor role with lots of executive visibility, deep architectural and technical impact, product innovation and culture role model with opportunity for advancement. The role involves application of distributed system fundamentals, problem solving and growth mindset to create simple solutions to complex engineering problems. The job requires cross group and cross geography collaboration, so you’ll need be proficient at creating and maintaining warm and productive working relationships with other teams. You will play a key role in mentoring and growing junior members of the team.Bring your technical insights into setting the architectural path and help do the right design for some of the most complex problems in cloud scale distributed systems.Bring clarity, create energy, and drive results – you’ll set a vision, rally the team behind it, and deliver for our customers.Help discover dependencies, get agreement, and influence stakeholders as we plan the work.Collaborate with partner organizations across the globe.Create an inclusive environment that attracts and retains high-performing engineers
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
Other Qualifications:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred qualifications:Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 15+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
