The Xbox Graphics team is part of the broader CoreOS team. In CoreOS, we are responsible for the Operating Systems that power Azure, Microsoft's Linux OS, the platforms for Windows Client, Xbox, and our Windows Server ecosystem. The Xbox Graphics Team focuses on end-to-end state of the art graphics, from concept through hardware design and core software such as drivers and low-level tools. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with experience in graphics APIs, drivers, and hardware to join our team!

Responsibilities

Design and develop advanced Windows driver features for targeted devices, focusing on innovation, realibility, and high performance. Collaborate with game developers and hardware manufactures to ideate, design, and validate end-to-end solutions that enhance user experience.Write clean, efficient, and secure code that meets industry standards and project requirements.Maintain and enhance drivers over the long term, with feature improvements, performance optimizations, and timely bug fixes.Contribute as an integral team member, aligning efforts with broader project objectives and shared goals. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in C and C++ programming with a focus on optimizing for defined performance metrics. Knowledge of 3D rendering APIs such as DirectX and Vulkan.Understanding of GPU and NPU architectures and operational principles.Experience working with Windows or Linux operating systems.Experience with the game development lifecycle, including design, implementation, and testing phases. Knowledge of hardware design processes, bring-up, and product release workflows.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
