Join our innovative DC Central Platform Team and help shape the software foundation that powers Microsoft’s global datacenter operations. Our team builds scalable platform solutions and developer tools that enable partner engineering teams to deliver apps and services driving operational efficiency and competitiveness — especially in the AI era, where datacenter performance defines the edge. We’re looking for a full stack Senior Software Engineer who thrives on solving complex problems, building high-impact systems, and elevating the developer experience. You’ll play a key role in modernizing our web platform and service ecosystem to empower internal teams to innovate faster and deliver world-class datacenter management solutions.

Responsibilities
Lead feature crew and delivery business requirement/solutions on time and be the technical expert on subject matter for the team. Design and build cross-platform capabilities, such as authentication, search, notification, telemetry, and more — that integrate seamlessly across a suite of datacenter apps and services. Develop and maintain shared component libraries, ensuring performance, security, and compliance across the platform ecosystem. Optimize system performance and reliability, proactively identifying and implementing improvements to increase throughput and reduce latency. Drive foundational upgrades and component governance, leveraging AI or automation to streamline workflows and improve engineering efficiency. Participate in on-call rotations, collaborate with partner teams to resolve issues, and continuously enhance service reliability and process efficiency. Mentor and guide early in profession engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence through design reviews, hands-on collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, React, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
Background Check Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional or preferred qualifications
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, React, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. Coding capabilities on both frontend and backend with great hands-on skills with JavaScript, React. C#/.NET Core, Azure DevOps, data storage, auth. Experience of leveraging AI to boost engineering efficiency. Experience with ystem design either from ground up or enhancing existing system with applying practical design principles and patterns. Experience in building standalone published shared libraries preferred. Experience in building large scale web platform with module federation preferredExperience in developing and maintaining large scale backend systems with modern API management preferredFamiliarity with distributed systems and event driven architecture preferredExperience in O365/Teams integration preferred.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
