As a Software Engineer in the Azure Storage Limitless team, you will design and implement features that manage hundreds of thousands of servers and billions of accounts across geo-regions. Responsibilities
Writes and learns to create code that is extensible and maintainable. Learns about and applies diagnosability, reliability, and maintainability, and understands when the code is ready to be shared and delivered.With guidance from more experienced colleagues, identifies and escalates blockers or unknowns during the development process, and communicates how they will impact timelines.Contributes in partnership with appropriate internal stakeholders (e.g., product manager, privacy/security subject matter expert, technical lead) to understand customer/user requirements for a feature.Supports the identification of dependencies, and their incorporation into the development of design documents for a product feature with oversight.Acts as a designated responsible individual (DRI) in monitoring a system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions for simple problems, and recommends actions to restore system/product/service by following the playbook.Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale and shares knowledge with other engineers.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, or C#,OR equivalent experience.Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Prferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, OR C#,OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, OR C#,OR equivalent experience.Professional and/or academic experience with distributed systems, cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP, AWS), and distributed cloud storage.
Software Engineering IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $84,200 - $165,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $109,000 - $180,400 per year.
