As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work alongside a global team of engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered agents and cloud-native services that redefine productivity in industries like Retail. 

This role requires you to be onsite 3 days a week in Microsoft's offices in Redmond, WA.

Responsibilities

Design & Deliver Scalable AI offerings

Lead the way to design and implement agents across Azure, Dynamics, and Power Platform to support Industry customer use cases from Retail, etc.  Collaborate Across Boundaries

Work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to co-develop intelligent agents embedded in partner platforms.  Drive Engineering Excellence

You will also play a key role in open-ended explorations, prototyping and identifying opportunities for our developers. Write clean, maintainable code and lead design reviews. Champion best practices in performance, reliability, and security.  Lead with Impact

Contribute to architectural decisions that shape the future of Microsoft’s industry Agentic offerings.  Champion Responsible AI 

Ensure AI agents are grounded, transparent, and aligned with Microsoft’s ethical AI principles.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications  : 

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.2+ years of industry experience in at least two of the following C#/C++/Java, HTML5/Javascript/React, Spark/Python. 

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications : 

Experience working on cross-industry or embedded agent architectures, distributed systems and micro-service architectures. Demonstrate good architecture, design, coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills.  Effective communication and collaboration skills across time zones.  Independent, self-driven and self-motivated Ability to take initiative, lead in ambiguous situations, and produce results Ability to collaborate effectively with a talented team Familiarity with Industry solutions related to Retail.  Experience with distributed systems and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).  Deep understanding of microservices, APIs, and DevOps practices.  Experience working with AI/ML-powered experiences, or LLM-based solutions. Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
