OverviewMicrosoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO&I) group is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design and develop software / hardware solutions to automate the measurement and validation of data components and interconnected systems within a large global portfolio of more than 100 datacenters. The hardware and software we develop enables teams across Microsoft to collect and analyze data center-wide high-speed diagnostic measurements. This allows them to make critical decisions about the performance and health of our data center. Responsibilities
Design and develop Azure based pipelines for aggregating, analyzing, and storing measurement and test dataManage engineering projects and features from the prototype to production Contribute to and advance application frameworks, design patterns, and engineering systemsDeliver well-tested features across many different services and platforms Manipulate, collate, and analyze complex, high dimensional data from varying sources to solve difficult problems Collaborate with teammates in various roles to plan and execute on key deliverables Work in a culture of continuous improvement, adaptation, reflection, and growth Learn quickly from your peers, projects, and interactions with customersEmbody our Culture and Values
Qualifications
Required/Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.4+ years of experience in software development role4+ years experience working with Embedded Linux hardware platforms and BlazorOther Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.Experience with distributed systems, performance analysis, databases, and/or large-scale data processing systems.Experience with Azure services such as IoT, Application Insights, Key Vault, and Storage Proficiency in C# (ASP.NET Core and Blazor), LabVIEW, Linux, and Python is desiredFront-end experience with Blazor, Angular, React, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and/or TypeScriptSoftware Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
