Description
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable, resilient, and intelligent services that power mission-critical commerce and risk systems. Architect and Develop: Design, build, and validate high-scale services that support near-real-time decision making.Risk & Fraud Protection: Implement intelligent systems and machine learning–driven workflows to detect and prevent fraud while minimizing customer friction.Quality & Security: Establish development practices that ensure service quality, integrity, and compliance with security standards.Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional engineering and product teams to deliver new capabilities that improve customer and partner experiences.Leadership: Mentor engineers, lead design efforts, and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.2+ years experience working on system design, distributed computing, and performance optimization.2+ years Experience building cloud-scale services on platforms such as Azure or AWS.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.Experience with Azure cloud services, such as Azure App Service and Azure Kubernetes Service, or equivalent platforms.Experience in e-commerce fraud prevention or financial transaction systems.Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, GitHub workflows, and infrastructure-as-code.Excellent problem-solving, cross-group collaboration, and communication skills.Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
