Description
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team! Azure Operator Nexus team, within Microsoft Azure Edge and Platform (E+P), is a globally distributed team responsible for the expanding Microsoft’s edge platform by extending Azure’s cloud capabilities to on-premises, multi-cloud, and edge environments, simplifying the management of scaled infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters. By projecting bare metal servers and Kubernetes clusters into Azure Resource Manager, customers can easily manage configurations and applications, enable monitoring and security, and deploy 1st and 3rd party applications.We are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to be on point for designing and implementing the next-generation Edge + Platform products and services for customers across the globe. This person will need to be technically sound, with in-depth knowledge and experience in Golang, Kubernetes, Linux and open-source technologies surrounding Kubernetes ecosystem.
You will have end-to-end ownership of your areas, including architecture, design, code, testing, and telemetry coverage. As a Senior Software Engineer you will contribute to and be responsible for:

Qualifications
Required/Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.Experience in GoLang Experience in Linux Operating systems Experience with Kubernetes, creating Custom Resources and Operators

Cloud Background check: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.Knowledge of developing, testing, releasing, and operating reliable, distributed systems software Knowledge of secure development practices and maintaining project compliance Ability to troubleshoot and remediate issues in production systems Experience in one or more of the following Areas: Microsoft Azure core services OSS communities, specifically with Ironic, Metal3, and Cluster API (CAPI) Networking, Storage, and Compute (including virtualization) Platform Monitoring, Logging and Alerting CI/CD to automate delivery stages with pipelines and control promotion with quality gates Cybersecurity with a focus on Cloud Infrastructure
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
