The Human Resources Digital Employee Experiences (HRDEE) organization is foundational to our HR operating model and digital experiences and provides the platform for end-to-end employee experiences and operational services. To realize Microsoft’s People Vision 2030 to be the most thriving and digitally enabled company on the planet, we embarked on an ambitious initiative to build a best-in-class AI-enabled HR Tech ecosystem that delivers delightful and personalized employee experiences, drives operational excellence with measurable cost savings, and intelligently optimizes the synergy of human and digital labor. We are partnering closely with Microsoft Product teams such as Viva, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure AI to extend their value to HR scenarios, and with select 3P partners to evolve their solutions to meet Microsoft’s needs and by extension the industry.

We are looking for a Senior SWE with deep systems thinking expertise and a proven track record of designing, building, and managing high-scale cloud-based services to join us and accelerate our progress. In this role, you will be responsible for full-lifecycle DevOps ownership of agentic AI systems in collaboration with Microsoft product teams and 3P suppliers, while ensuring that they meet all the security, privacy, and Responsible AI requirements in a rapidly changing regulatory environment.

Design and build agentic AI systems by composing 1P/3P platform capabilities to address Microsoft’s and our customers’ HR requirements Build a thorough understanding of HR stakeholders’ perspectives and use that understanding to craft a successful influence approach with our product teams Collaborate with security, privacy, and Responsible AI stakeholders to make our HR ecosystem a shining example of Responsible AI in one of the most regulated domains in the tech industry Act decisively on own authority when timely action is needed, even in uncertain situations

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. 3+ years of experience in designing, building, and managing high-scale full-stack systems including microservices, distributed systems, data and analytics workloads, and AI training and inferencing servicesPreferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in designing, building, and managing high-scale full-stack systems including microservices, distributed systems, data and analytics workloads, and AI training and inferencing services. Deep knowledge of cloud-based architectural patterns and best practices.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
