Within Azure Data, the databases team builds and maintains Microsoft's operational Database systems. We store and manage data in a structured way to enable multitude of applications across various industries. We are on a journey to enable developer friendly, mission-critical, AI enabled operational Databases across relational, non-relational and OSS offerings.
As a Senior Software Engineer for Cosmos DB, you'll design and implement features to boost scalability and performance, optimize system efficiency, and resolve complex issues. You'll write high-quality code, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and stay ahead of industry trends to drive innovation. Additionally, you'll mentor junior engineers and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications
Strong knowledge of NoSQL and distributed databases.Strong background in C# and C++Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).Expertise in programming languages such as C#, C++, Java.Experience in designing and optimizing large-scale distributed systems.Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teamsCreates and assures the presence of visible evidence to demonstrate compliance for products. Develops and maintains a deep understanding of the implications of onboarding new technologies following expectations of compliance at Microsoft.Considers and drives comprehensive application of automation within production and deployment of a product. Runs code in simulated or other non-production environments to confirm functionality and error-free runtime for products. Defines and develops standardized, repeatable, scalable solutions to guarantee quality.Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
