We are looking for a Software Engineer 2 with background in distributed systems and security for rapidly growing Confidential Computing initiatives in azure core security. Azure core security services team is responsible to ensure Azure remains most secure and resilient cloud platform with special focus on Confidential Computing. Confidential VM provisioning team plays a key role in provisioning Confidential VM's seamlessly and securely in Azure. Team works on building high quality globally available cloud services to securely provision the Confidential VM's. Team plays a critical role in shaping how VM provisioning works in Azure end to end rom control plane to data plane. In addition to provisioning VM's securely team also works very closely with hypervisor team , core OS team as well as external linux distributions to bring full disk encryption capabilities in OS. You will have a great opportunity to work across the tech stack from cloud services to low level systems design to enable new cutting edge confidential VM's in Azure.

As a software engineer in Azure Core Security Services team, we are looking for a software engineer working with all service aspects of high throughput and multi-tenant services. As a part of software engineer in this team working on cutting edge products, you will gain extensive experience of building and operationalizing cloud scale services and enhance your understanding of cloud security fundamentals.
Take ownership to design the components, write clean code, add unit and end to end tests toHelp build new customer-facing offerings that will extend the portfolio of Trusted and Confidential Computing services for securing Azure customers workloads.Contribute to the efforts to design, build high quality security cloud services in Azure.Analyze the virtual machine life cycle in azure from control plane as well as data plane perspectives.Investing your time into solving hard problems, defining architecture, partnering, and ensuring high code quality, availability, scalability, and security of our services.Other

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.
Additional Requirements:
This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.Experience with design and development experience that includes development in C#/C++/C or similar, preferably with distributed programming models. Background in computer security Experience in building and designing very large-scale systems; prior experience in building large scale online systems is a big plus. Demonstrated problem solving and debugging skills. Experience in Windows client, server OS security and applied cryptography is a plus. Ability to go deep in security features. Ability to learn and grasp concepts quickly is critical to success. The ability to multi-task while balancing short term and long-term needs is essential.
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
