Description

Microsoft Intune is a comprehensive endpoint management solution that provides IT organizations with a cloud-based platform to manage and secure their devices, applications, and data. Intune offers a wide range of features and capabilities that enable IT to deliver a seamless and secure computing experience to their users.

We are seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer to join our Data Platform Services organization within Intune, to build cloud services that operate at high scale and availability, with opportunities for technical leadership. As a senior member of our team, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of highly scalable and reliable software components, drive technical strategy, and mentor engineers.

Technical Leadership:

Lead technical design and architecture discussions for Data Platform ServicesDrive technical roadmap and vision for Data Platform Services, aligning with Intune's overall strategyCollaborate with product management to define and prioritize project backlogsSoftware Development:

Design, develop, and deploy distributed systems software components in Data Platform, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performanceWrite high-quality, maintainable code, and review contributions from engineersMentorship and Knowledge Sharing:

Mentor engineers, providing guidance and oversight on complex projectsDevelop and maintain technical documentation, ensuring knowledge sharing and best practicesInnovation and R&D:

Explore emerging technologies and trends, assessing their impact on our distributed systems and servicesDrive proof-of-concept projects, demonstrating innovative solutions and technical expertiseCollaboration and Communication:

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and operationsCommunicate technical vision and roadmap to stakeholders, both technical and non-technical

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.5+ years of experience distributed systems, design principles, scalability patterns, and high-availability architectures5+ years of experience with cloud platforms including but not limited to Azure, AWS, GCP5+ years of experience debugging software and performance optimization

Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
