As a Principal Software Engineer in the Mesh Experiences team, you will work with a team of engineers to build and integrate our immersive experiences into the Teams ecosystem, enabling hundreds of millions of existing users to experience 3D virtual worlds right inside their Teams client. These experiences will empower users to seamlessly transition between the physical and the digital world and access relevant information in a manner that is more human in nature.

Work on a set of delightful, high quality, performant experiences that work across 3D endpoints, including Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) headsets, and 2D endpoints, including PCs, Tablets, Phones, etc. Partner with industry-leading Engineers, Artists, Designers and Program Managers to turn concepts into wonderful shipping experiences.  Incorporate the latest artificial intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and Computer Vision capabilities into the design of our products. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.3+ years of experience developing high performance web applications in modern web technologies including but not limited to, React, Fluent UI, or WebGL. 2+ years of experience incorporating the latest AI models and Computer Vision algorithms in user experiences. 4+ years of demonstrated experience as a technical lead and/or people manager. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Unity, Unreal or related game engines. Experience shipping high quality, performant 3D games or Mixed Reality experiences. Experience with applied AI and incorporating LLMs into user experiences. Experience in shipping highly scalable, networked user experiences and performant web applications.  Demonstrated communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
