Description

We are helping to shape the future of platform development with the latest set of powerful knowledge and artificial intelligence services and solutions.Our team is looking for a successful, highly skilled and motivated Principal Software Engineer to help evangelize and build APIs in our platform. You will help devise, drive and build features for this business as well as onboard and support partnerships in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining high energy and a professional attitude.
The successful candidate plans, designs, develops, and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products which may be used in local, networked, cloud-based, or Internet-related computer programs. Develops software, tools, and code to be used in support of design, infrastructure, and technology platforms as well as commercial or end-user applications. Uses current programming language and technologies to write code, perform testing, and debug any issues with robust documentation, procedures for deployment, and processes for maintenance. May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications. May directly contribute to live site maintenance activities.

Work on the delivery of high-quality services that will power AI and Search experiences across products and APIs.Ensure the quality, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability of services.Participate in design and code reviews, and contribute to the development of a clean, well-documented codebase.Help other team members plan and execute technical deliverables with the required quality.Leverage subject-matter expertise of cross-product features with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive multiple group's project plans, release plans, and work items.Hold accountability as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), mentoring engineers across products/solutions, working on-call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptionsProactively seek new knowledge especially in AI, Search and API development and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale and shares knowledge with other engineers.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
Experience operating, troubleshooting, and supporting high performance and business critical production systems.High proficiency coding, debugging and algorithm design skills.Committed proficiency in backend technologies such as .NET, relational and/or non-relational (NoSQL) databases, web services and RESTful concepts.Preferred Qualifications:
Solid communication skills including the ability to distill information into concise communication, ability to tailor language and detail to the audience, including executive audience, and use of multiple communication mediums to distribute information.Prior experience with API platform development.
Passion for continuous learning and applying learning in ways that drive business improvements.
Ability to conceive new direction, articulate strategic thinking and convert that to tactical execution.
Self- starter who can work independently and manage confidentiality.Commitment to creating and maintaining an inclusive workplace.Expertise in Web technologies is a plus. Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
