Responsible for the development and evaluation of datacenter networking technologies to deliver leading-edge capabilities for Azure’s global customers, focusing on host and switch software development, NIC programing, telemetry, and protocol development and related topics.Architectural design and close collaboration with other architects focused on current and future datacenter designs.Work directly within our group and with partner teams, both hardware and software. Learn and adopt relevant new technologies, tools, methods and processes from Microsoft, industry, and the research community, while contributing to the team’s ability to consume these technologies.  Embody our culture and values.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Rust, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

Advanced degree preferably in Computer Science or related fields OR 10+ years equivalent professional work experience in Software Development with demonstrated history of success in building scalable software for data center networks. Background in computer systems, with thorough understanding of system software (OS, Drivers, Firmware) and its interaction with hardware. Familiarity with high performance networking hardware/architecture. Experience leading and driving complex projects. Intellectual curiosity and a passion for learning and deploying innovative technologies. Solid problem-solving skills, analytical capabilities, and attention to detail.

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
