Minecraft Engineering Systems is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our Test Automation team who supports our studio in shipping high quality releases via Continuous Delivery and testing at scale. We are looking for an experienced C++ developer to lead the development of our in-game test framework. You’ll work with developers across the studio who are building and running tests, to make their development process easy and efficient and lead the design and implementation of new test frameworks and strategies. In this role, you will empower Mojang Studios to delight new players, provide innovative content, and expand to new platforms and titles for generations to come.

Design solutions for systems which results in simple, extensible, and maintainable high-quality code. Lead design, implementation, and code reviews across the feature area. Mentor other team members on doing these at quality. Apply a passion for improving the developer experience. On the Minecraft Engineering System, our customers are developers. You should be comfortable collecting feedback and data and translating it into improvements. Use technical knowledge of the product design and code to identify risks and prevent classes of bugs. Optimize team processes to improve productivity and responsiveness to feedback and changing priorities. Embody our Culture & Values

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++ and C#OR equivalent experience.Experience working on and shipping native applications or Triple A video games. 6+ years of modern experience developing in C++. Experience building applications on a variety of platforms including desktop, mobile, and cloud. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with test automation frameworks and infrastructure at scaleAbility to quickly prototype, iterate, and take initiative to drive progress Expereice mentoring or leading others

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
