We are looking for an experienced software engineering manager to lead a team of engineers developing security features and services for the Azure platform around Hardware Key Management. The candidate should be an independent self-driven and hands-on manager with a proven track record running high scale services with a Livesite-first mindset, experience leading successful teams with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across the company, a passion for driving engineering cultures, and an excellent track record managing and growing/coaching engineers.
With security being top priority for Azure, this role gives excellent and highly visible opportunities to make a significant impact in securing Microsoft’s vision of the cloud.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years software development experience in a product group
OR equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience managing and leading product teamsDemonstrated design and development experience with distributed programming modelsOther Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of security technologies is highly desirable
Prior experience in building large-scale distributed systems
The ability to learn and grasp concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment is critical to successAbility to multitask while balancing short-term and long-term needs is essentialPassion for building and designing hyper scale systemsDemonstrated problem solving and debugging skillsSoftware Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
