As Manager of DigiTS’ Data Science & Business Intelligence team, you’ll be responsible for the data pipelines that aggregates telemetry across Microsoft’s broader consumer business, to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations such as Europe’s Digital Services Act (DSA) and UK’s Online Safety Act (OSA) and that our actions align with our policy goals. You’ll work closely with product teams, policy makers, legal experts, and external partners to ensure that our solutions are aligned with Microsoft's values and standards, as well as the needs and expectations of Microsoft’s customers.

Guides team to align with broader organization goals and regulatory requirements, in partnership with stakeholders (e.g., project manager, technical leads, legal).Manages a team of Software Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Analysts, to design, build and maintain infrastructure supporting DigiTS services and platforms.Guides team to drive multiple group's project plans, release plans, and work items in coordination with appropriate stakeholders.Guides others and acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers across products, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.Seeks new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale and shares knowledge with other engineers.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.3+ years people management experience, including hiring and managing highly skilled data engineers, providing mentorship, guidance and career development to members of your team.Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years experience designing and building data engineering solutions to solve complex, ambiguous problems, providing value across many teams.5+ years experience with SQL, data modeling, ETL, real time pipelines and analytics platforms (Azure Data Warehouse, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, etc).3+ years professional experience supporting compliance and/or regulatory reports.5+ years experience with owning large data sets, including anomaly / outlier detection, data quality and validation.5+ years professional experience developing and maintaining large scale, distributed, backend services using cloud native platforms including but not limited to, Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS or Google Cloud.Experience owning platforms for both consumer and enterprise customers.
Software Engineering M4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
