As a Software Engineering Intern for Agentic Sales Coach, you will help optimize and advance a live AI-powered learning tool by defining new features and capabilities, collaborating, and innovating with teammates. You will apply your passion for customers and product quality while you support ongoing innovation through telemetry, evaluation tooling, user feedback insights, and high-quality testing. You will learn and adopt relevant new AI technologies, tools, methods, and processes to leverage your solutions. You will also consider the impact of AI technology, including applying Microsoft’s responsible AI practices. This opportunity will enable you to advance your career by designing, developing, and testing next-generation products and agents that will empower every person and organization on the planet to achieve more.   

This role is 100% remote and may be performed from any US based location during the 8-week program which starts June 15, 2026, through August 7, 2026.  

Responsibilities

Apply engineering principles to solve complex problems through sound and creative engineering.  

Work with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features. 

Quickly learn new engineering methods and incorporate them into work processes.  

Demonstrate skill in time management and completing engineering assignments in a collaborative team environment. 

Review current build processes and proactively seek new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale. 

Apply Microsoft’s Responsible AI practices and use structured feedback loops to help shape high-quality AI learning experiences—testing features, identifying usability opportunities, and providing clear recommendations that improve Copilot experiences for learners.

Participate in a cross‑group project performing structured teardowns to identify issues, opportunities and provide improvement recommendations across an end‑to‑end experience.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field during the academic term immediately before the internship.    

Must have completed at least 1 year of undergraduate studies.  

One year of programming experience in an object-oriented language.

 Preferred Qualifications: 

Ability to demonstrate an understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms. 

Experience with AI/ML projects, such as developing machine learning models, working with large datasets, or implementing AI solutions in real-world applications. 

Familiarity with AI frameworks and libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.  

Experience in using AI tools to generate projects, such as GitHub Copilot, Claude code, Microsoft Roo Code or similar, with an understanding of their strengths and limitations.  

Experience working cross-team, collaborating with others, prioritizing tasks, and working independently. 

The base pay range for this internship is USD $5610.00 - $11010.00 per month. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $7270.00 - $12030.00 per month.
