Microsoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth including AI!CSCP’s vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud Capacity Differentiated at Scale. The CSCP Organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), decommissioning and disposition of Data center assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters supporting services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries worldwide.
We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join the Intelligent Fulfillment System (IFS) explicability and AI functionality team.
This team will focus on explaining every plan produced by IFS’s various solvers and build different solutions to make this process automated and intelligent. This is the area that we’re hit most by customers’ questions and supporting load. Today, this is the bottleneck we’re having now to scaleup IFS’s capabilities, because this is the team to build trust with users and make them onboard the decisions of system-driven approach.
We’ve built a highly asynchronous, event driven, distributed microservices platform that plans the best possible delivery plan, automates the associated business and physical processes, and reacts in real-time to changes that impact delivery. To deliver on the customer promise of the infinite cloud, we’re looking for people to push this architecture further into the following areas:
• Enabling optimized matching of our hardware supply to our customer needs.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding, debugging and problem-solving in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python. OR equivalent experience. 2+ years experience building and maintaining microservices.1+ year experience with distributed systems and event driven architectures.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding debugging and problem-solving in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.Demonstrated experience with data processing framework (Databricks, Azure Synapse, etc) and python.Demonstrated organizational and communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-groups and work effectively within the team.Experience with AI and LLM is a plus.
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
