Responsibilities

As an SDE2 on the End‑User Experience team, you will design and build the core front‑end surfaces that millions of users rely on to manage their identity, access, and self‑service workflows across Microsoft Entra. You’ll own end‑to‑end features from architecture to UX implementation focusing on performance, accessibility, security, and delightful user interactions. This role is a great fit if you enjoy solving customer-facing problems, simplifying complex IAM scenarios, and driving measurable improvements in productivity for both end users. You will collaborate closely with designers, PMs, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure experiences that define how customers engage with identity at Microsoft.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Requirements:

3+ years of professional software development experience.

2+ years of experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern front‑end frameworks such as React. Experience building and shipping production‑grade web applications at scale. Solid understanding of web fundamentals (HTML, CSS, DOM, accessibility, responsive design).

Experience designing, integrating, and debugging RESTful APIs or distributed backend services.

Proficient problem‑solving, debugging, and engineering fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, code quality).

Experience with unit/integration testing, version control, and CI/CD workflows.

Proven ability to design, implement, and own features end‑to‑end with minimal supervision.

Communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively with PM, Design, and partner engineering teams.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
