OverviewCopilot Studio is Microsoft’s enterprise platform for building and interacting with AI-powered, low-code solutions—enabling the creation of intelligent agents and conversational experiences used by millions of users. The Copilot Studio team designs and delivers intuitive authoring and runtime experiences that empower citizen developers and pro developers alike to solve real-world problems and extend Microsoft’s family of Copilots across business systems and channels.
We’re looking for a Software Engineer II with a strong front-end focus to help build modern, high-scale, and inclusive user experiences. You’ll work on intuitive authoring surfaces that support diverse personas in fusion teams, translating complex AI capabilities into approachable, high-quality interactions.
As part of a highly collaborative SaaS team, you’ll own features end-to-end—from development to production—building automated tests, ensuring quality and reliability, and delivering continuously at scale. Responsibilities
Design, implement, and deliver high-quality, user-facing features with a strong emphasis on front-end engineering, performance, accessibility, and reliability.Own the implementation of medium-to-large features across front-end and supporting services, making sound technical decisions within a defined problem space.Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and researchers to translate product requirements into intuitive, scalable user experiences.Contribute to frontend architecture and shared components, improving maintainability, performance, and consistency across the product.Use data, telemetry, and user feedback to identify issues, validate solutions, and continuously improve product quality.Participate actively in code reviews, design discussions, and team processes, contributing to a culture of high engineering and experience quality.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, Javascript, CSS, HTML, C#, Java, or Python OR equivalent experience.Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass theMicrosoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience working in a high-scale SaaS environment, building and supporting hosted services.3 years of professional experience building front-end web applications using JavaScript,TypeScript, React, and state management solutions such as Redux, Zustand, or similar.Experience building and shipping user-facing product features that integrate AI models or AI-powered tools in production systems.Robust grounding in computer science fundamentals with practical application across systems and algorithms.Demonstrated experience in technical design, architecture, problem solving, and debugging of complex systems.Demonstrated experience building or integrating AI-powered product features using large language models (LLMs), including hands-on experience working with AI tools as part of modern software development.Experience developing and maintaining frontend build and test infrastructure, including writing effective unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
