OverviewMicrosoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! Responsibilities
Design, build, and operate highly scalable, resilient, and always‑available cloud services supporting Microsoft’s global Supply Chain.Collaborate across engineering, PM, and data teams to define requirements, prototype solutions, and deliver new capabilities through experimentation and iterative development. Implement high‑quality APIs and microservices grounded in service‑oriented architecture and cloud‑native design principles.Drive technical excellence by solving complex engineering problems, optimizing performance, reducing cost, and improving reliability across distributed systems.Evaluate and adopt new technologies, validate architectural approaches, and contribute to long‑term platform strategy and roadmap.Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code, with a strong emphasis on quality, reliability, security, and operational readiness.Partner with global Supply Chain teams to understand real‑world use cases, translate business needs into technical solutions, and ensure platform capabilities scale with business growth. Participate in on-call rotations and live‑site support, helping maintain world‑class service availability and responsiveness.Contribute to team culture by embodying Microsoft values, fostering inclusion, and helping strengthen engineering best practices.Apply AI/agentic capabilities to reduce manual, repetitive supply chain workflows—leveraging Copilot/GenAI-assisted development
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.2+ years track record of delivering high quality software
Other Requirements:Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with middleware or integration technologies supporting supplier collaboration, partner connectivity, or B2B workflows. Working experience with REST, service-oriented architecture and cloud services (Azure or similar). Exposure to supply chain or inventory-related domains, with an understanding of core operational and data‑flow conceptsFull‑stack development experience, contributing to both backend services and user‑facing components.
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
