Within Azure Data, the databases team builds and maintains Microsoft's operational Database systems. We store and manage data in a structured way to enable multitude of applications across various industries. We are on a journey to enable developer friendly, mission-critical, AI enabled operational Databases across relational, non-relational and OSS offerings.

Responsibilities
Design, implement and operate services, microservices and components that will improve the SQL DB service offerings ensuring quality, maintainability, and end-to-end ownership.Release features on time, with high quality, meeting functional, performance, scalability, and compliance requirements .Strengthen the engineering process to ensure cloud deployments are done in the most efficient way and meet the targeted reliability, performance, scalability, and Service Level Agreement (SLA) goals.Identify improvements in supportability and customer self-diagnostics to enhance live monitoring and address performance and reliability related issues.Learn our customers’ experience first-hand by participating in the on-call rotation for the service teams.Drive decisions with data, prioritize customer obsession, and leverage telemetry from production systems and customer usage pattern.Embody our Culture and Values
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. 2+ years of experience developing backend services like storage, databases or networking systems in large distributed systems environment.Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
