Overview

Commerce + Ecosystems (C+E) is responsible for enabling and optimizing the end-to-end customer journey on the Microsoft Cloud. C+E’s Commerce Financial Platform (CFP) team is responsible for Financial Platforms, Global Payments, Employee Financial Experiences, and C+E Governance, and develops and operates financial commerce platforms and tools that perform all revenue management functions for our customers, partners, and staff worldwide.

We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join The Commerce Financial Platform. The team builds intelligent, scalable services that power Microsoft’s commerce experiences end-to-end. We’re accelerating AI driven business applications grounded in data, built for collaboration, and designed to simplify complex workflows across CRM/ERP scenarios. As a Software Engineer II, you’ll build reliable, services, responsible AI feature that ship to production and are used across Microsoft.

Responsibilities

Develop the features/components using a mix of Azure (including Azure AI), Power Platform (including Dataverse), .NET, and other enterprise service platforms and architectures. Develop, test, and maintain robust, reliable, and highly distributed software systems using the latest technologiesContribute as an individual contributor while fostering the team culture, helping plan and prioritize work and be accountable for cloud service.Design and implement scalable, highly available services. Drive the implementation and execution to bring the vision to life.Apply agile methodologies with a focus on efficiency, iterating quickly and continuous learning.Author functional and technical documentation. Communicate on a deep technical level with product engineering, project management and operations teams to improve products, optimize infrastructure, and evolve servicesAdhere to engineering practices, effective coding, unit tests, debugging, code reviewing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.Collaborate with stakeholders to determine user requirements, contribute to product definition, scoping, and detailed specification. Solve problems by leading with customer obsession.Embody our culture and values.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Requirements:

Master's Or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.2+ years of experience with Object Oriented Programming, .NET Core, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, C#, Azure Open AI and SQL Server Programming along with experience in cloud services (Azure).2+ years of experience building and running enterprise applications using Microsoft technology stack.1+ years of experience with common scripting languages like Angular JS, PowerShell etc. and exposure to ADO/VSO and Git with the ability to write secure, optimized scripts.Experience with owning or driving large scale services, components, or feature areas. Knowledge of managing software in production systems.Hands-on experience with infrastructure troubleshooting.Willingness to participate in monthly on-call rotation within the team#CFP #C+E

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
