The Windows Servicing and Delivery (WSD) organization delivers updates to every Windows-based device in the world to protect users and enable them to be productive. While Security remains the primary focus, the team also enables our commercial and enterprise customers by enabling new device support, addressing reliability and upgrade blocking issues. This work is critical for the Windows family of devices, Surface Hub, HoloLens, Azure and more. This agile team ships twice every month to over a billion Windows devices in the ecosystem to keep them Protected and Productive.

The Cross-Platform Currency (CPC) team within WSD is responsible for creating the tools and processes that keep Windows up to date, ensuring that users have the most up-to-date features and security possible. CPC is hiring a motivated Software Engineer II to help reimagine traditional update systems and processes, as well as the redesign of updates from the ground up shifting to a modern, scalable, Azure-based solutions.

As a Software Engineer II, you will design and deliver quality AI Services and CI/CD. You will play a critical role in the team. You will need to understand the design, code, and features of many different areas, quickly come up to speed and deliver features with attention to detail and responsiveness. You will design services that are highly scaled, low latency, always on, low cost to maintain and operate. You should be able to influence other developers to come up with the right design and architecture for their components and make them the model for common patterns going forward.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.2+ years of programming experience with .NET framework (C#) and experience with Large Azure Cloud distributed solutions development.Experience in working with Azure services like Service fabric, Kubernetes, Azure Batch, Keyvault.Experience with Information Systems Security.Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements that are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screening:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript,OR PythonOR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experienceOverall understanding of Azure and Cloud infrastructure.Ability to understand unfamiliar code bases, and debug server-side, multi-threaded, and highly scalable applications.Experience with agile/scrum methodologies.Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
