Within Azure Data, the databases team builds and maintains Microsoft's operational Database systems. We store and manage data in a structured way to enable multitude of applications across various industries. We are on a journey to enable developer friendly, mission-critical, AI enabled operational Databases across relational, non-relational and OSS offerings.
The Azure Sql Deployment team is looking for people who are interested in developing a state-of the-art platform that spans multiple clouds, hosts multiple database engines, and enables touch-free deployments to millions of databases in a fast, safe, and reliable way. The platform provides full lifecycle services involving deployment, upgrade, high availability, disaster recovery, supportability, and management end-to-end.

Design, develop, and maintain software features and components that meet functional and non-functional requirements, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, following established coding standards and best practices. Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications to improve performance, resilience, and user experience.Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to quality standards. Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python OR equivalent experience.At least one year of backend developement and distributed systems.Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.2+ years experience with C# and PowershellCuriosity and willingness to questionâ¯Enthusiasm, integrity, ingenuity, results-orientation, self-motivation, and resourcefulness in a fast-paced environmentâ¯Design and development experience in database engines, distributed systems, cloud computing, container technology, and operating system internalsExcellent communication and collaboration skills
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
