Digital Trust & Safety (DigiTS) is looking for a Software Engineer II to join our team! DigiTS is a technology provider to all of Microsoft, defining the digital safety posture for a vast and global array of services. We develop and deploy cutting-edge solutions that leverages multiple technologies including artificial intelligence and human-in-the-loop systems to detect, prevent, and mitigate harmful content and behavior online. We work closely with product teams, policy makers, legal experts, and external partners to ensure that our solutions are aligned with Microsoft's values and standards, as well as the needs and expectations of Microsoft’s customers.

Contributes to the identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight, using existing and emerging technologies (AI/ML, .Net Core, Serverless, Azure), focusing on standardized, testable, repeatable and scalable solutions.Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features. Contributes to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provides estimation.Participates in an on-call rotation as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI). Includes reactively responding to system / product / service alerts for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and proactively driving efforts to improve platform SLAs.Remains current in skills by investing time and effort into staying abreast of current developments that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.Demonstrates pride, ownership, personal accountability and advocacy for Microsoft’s end-user experience, balancing Digital Safety with Privacy and Regulatory expectations.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java or PythonOR equivalent experience.2+ years experience building and maintaining cloud native services or products, operating as a Data processor for Enterprise customersOther Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years professional experience developing and maintaining large scale, distributed, backend services using cloud native platforms including but not limited to, Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS or Google Cloud.5+ years experience building and maintaining cloud native services or products, operating as a Data processor for Enterprise customers.Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
