The ideal candidate should have proven software development experience, ability to translate business problems into solutions while maintaining obsession and curiosity for securing our software/services, increase resilience, and improve customer experience.
Secure Admin Services organization owns and operates our entire stack from custom application development, through identity and security products/tooling, as well as the underlying infrastructure. We also own the Secure Admin Workstation product, partnering closely with other product teams across Microsoft to continuously improve the experience while maintaining our critical security posture. Our team has won the coveted CSO50 award twice, for High-Risk Environments as well as Secure Admin Workstations, and continues to be an area of investment as we align with Microsoft’s new Security-first Initiative.

This position needs a Software Engineer II with Infrastructure, operations background who is able to collaborate with domain experts, architects and senior technical & program management teams throughout the program life cycle.

Key responsibilities:
Be responsible for owning multiple services, architecting them to scale, and have robust unit tests to deliver high quality products.Solve problems at their source, stepping back to understanding the broader context, and implementing fixes to ensure that it never occurs again.Stay abreast of new techniques, tools and methodologies used to address the critical developmental areas.Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve applications to support the business to drive and enable security across systems.Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.Work closely with business and engineering partners during early SDLC phases to understand the business capabilities and goals for the program.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.1 year experience implementing and maintaining compliance with security, privacy, safety, and accessibility standards, ensuring adherence to regulatory and organizational requirementsOther Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafterPreferred Qualifications:

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
