Description
Join the Windows Experiences - AGI Team at Microsoft and help shape the future of intelligent, agent centric experiences across emerging Windows 11 surfaces. As a Software Engineer you’ll help build features that empower billions of users to interact seamlessly with Windows through smart, local model powered agents. You’ll learn from experienced engineers, grow your skills in a high ownership environment, and release quality code that makes an impact. As a Software Engineer II - Windows Experiences , you will collaborate closely with cross disciplinary teams—including Product, Design, and Machine Learning—to implement agentic experiences and features within the Windows platform. You’ll get hands on experience writing clean, maintainable, test driven code in C++, C#, and Python, contributing to real world delivery pipelines. Work with stakeholders to gather and understand user requirements for conversational and background agent features.Support creation of design documents and help identify dependencies for delivering a feature.With guidance, write, test, and validate code for agent-based features across the Windows stack using C++, C#, and Python.Assist in task breakdown, estimation, and planning for feature delivery.Participate in code reviews and adhere to Microsoft secure by default guidelines and best practice.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.Experience for working with AI/ML powered agents or desktop applications.Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.Experience with AI/ML integration and cloud services is a plus. Demonstrated understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object oriented design principles.Experience problem solving and collaboration skills; effective communicator in both remote and in office settings.Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
