As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for developing, testing, deploying, and supporting features for confidential compute. You will help Azure customers achieve the highest levels of privacy and security by delivering technology and solutions that protect their data in use, in addition to existing methods in Azure for protecting data at rest and in transit. This opportunity will allow you to learn about cloud infrastructure, operating the cloud at scale, and technologies that help secure the cloud. You will work across multiple technology teams within Microsoft and with the industry community, helping advance the state of the art in confidential computing.

Responsibilities
Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a feature.Supports identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product feature with oversight.With guidance, learns to create and implement code for a product, service, or feature reusing code as applicable.Assists and learns about breaking down work items into tasks and provides estimation.Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in monitoring system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions for simple problems, and recommends actions to restore system/product/service by following the playbook.Reviews current developments and proactively seeks new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience. Other Qualifications: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, OR Python OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. Experience with Confidential Computing concepts and/or with cloud securityExperience with Linux kernel distribution and virtualization concepts
