Description
OverviewJoin Azure Local team to design and deliver next-generation cloud solutions, bringing Azure services closer to customers. This role focuses on enabling compute, storage, and networking capabilities for Azure Local environments, ensuring high availability, security, and integration with Azure Stack HCI and Kubernetes-based orchestration.

Responsibilities
Design & Implement: Develop and maintain core features for Azure Local compute, storage, and networking services with a focus on reliability and scalability.Technical Leadership: Drive architecture decisions, influence design patterns, and mentor junior engineers.Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams (networking, storage, Kubernetes) to deliver integrated solutions.Performance & Quality: Optimize code for performance, security, and maintainability; contribute to automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.Innovation: Explore emerging technologies to enhance Azure Local capabilities and improve customer experience.
Qualifications
Required qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Azure services, Azure Stack HCI, and Kubernetes.Understanding distributed systems, networking fundamentals, and cloud architecture.Knowledge of storage technologies (Storage Spaces Direct, Cluster Shared Volumes), and virtualization.Familiarity with Geneva monitoring and cloud-init lifecycle management.Experience working in large-scale, mission-critical environments.
Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
